KeyShia Cole: 'JUST LIKE YOU' {In Review}~The New Album*

As I listen to the new Keyshia Cole LP, JUST LIKE YOU; her Second Studio effort as an R&B Artist/Vocalist, I cant help but to WONDER about the depths of Keyshias emotional Sorrows. Every track of this 15 Record Album, seems to unveil yet another layer of pain that Keyshia has either endured recently, or in a not so distant past. She belts out vocals, in songs like, FALLIN OUT, SHOULDA LET YOU GO, and GOT TO GET MY HEART BACK, with the Intensity of a woman scorned. She intimately takes her listeners down a tear pathed road of Solitude and Rigged Solace, on songs like, I REMEMBER, LOSING YOU, and WORK IT OUT. Keyshia's Heart, and the Moments upon which it beats, through her Broken Mornings and Unfulfilled Nights, is reminiscent of the gut wrenching tales of Lonely Love that echo the Lyrics of Mary J. Blige; the Undisputed Queen of Hip Hop Soul...a Legend in her own Right. As Keyshia is self declared as one of Mary J. Bliges Ultimate Fans, I Wonder how often Mary's Songs that comprised the MY LIFE and SHARE MY WORLD LP's, nourished the young soul of Keyshia Cole? Keyshia questions the stance and position of her romantic relationship on tracks drenched in proclomation, GIVE ME MORE and WAS IT WORTH IT. With this album, Keyshia creates a Division between the Tale of a woman whose Heart has been Broken, but whose Soul will Not be Stolen. Each song is like another day in the Mental journey of a woman who is Healing, and who Now understands the error of her Emotional Decisions. We, as the listeners, are given a SneekPeek behind the walls of a Keyshia 'Moment' as she emotionally handles the mundane dissatisfactions with her man, on a Strong, High Strung Interlude, SAME THING. Actually, the Same Thing Interlude would make for a Stellar, Lone, Track performance, amongst the other tracks polished on this R&B Compilation. All of us have been 'In Love' at one Point in our Lives, and Keyshia examines the ways in which Love forged her into Positions of Weakness and Submission, unto a Man who didnt Love her the way she Deserves to be Loved. This is an album of Empowerment, though Spiced with Odes of Melancholy Rhythms. Keyshia delivers Vocals of Potency, and Lyrics of Eternal Fortitude. JUST LIKE YOU, Keyshia has Hurt and Healed and Hurt again. She Shares her Truth through what is SURE to be, another Platinum Success.
