I am Tearing Up as I Write this, for it is upon the back of this Woman that I stand to Achieve, Maintain Faith to Believe, and Operate Daily with Confidence and a High Level of Self Esteem. LEGENDS are Spoken of in Many facets; few for which it Stands, Infinitely and Realistically. Zakiya Lumumba; The Mother of All Mothers, is a Woman Who has Sacrificed ALL of her Wants, for MANY of My Needs. She Reigns above the Standards of Grace, Poise, Decorum and Sophistication. She is a LEGEND in due part to her Struggles. For those of You Who Know Her; MANY of My Lifelong Friends and Close Associates, in accordance, will AGREE...
Zakiya is One of the Most Giving, Loyal, Loving and Nurturing Human Beings Who has ever Left Foot Prints upon the Soils of Our Domain. She is the Epiphany of Promise, and the Prelude to Hope. My Mother is a Woman Who went to bed some nights, eating PopCorn, as so Nyasha and I could LITERALLY eat Steak. My Mother is a Woman Who Never took a Lunch Break at work, for two years straight, as so She could Pick Nyasha and I up from School and take us Home at 2:30pm; as so we would Not have to attend the Afterschool Program that we did Not Enjoy. My Mother is a Woman Who held Me in One of the Darkest Hours of My Life; circa January, 2003; a Turning Point in My Adulthood...a Willingness to be Open and Free with My Family. She is a Woman of Courage and of Strength, who Gave to US what We Never knew she had; who has Shared her Teachings and Guidance in Spirituality, Good Will, Prayer, Focus and Stride.
Zakiya is a LEGEND, for she Symbolizes the True Essence of a Woman, Who Honors Motherhood. In My Lifetime, it has partially, and yet, predominately been My Mother Who has allowed Me to Wear this Prince Crown. Ive ALWAYS been Treated as Royalty in the Lumumba Household, and have Never known what it is to Face the Cold World, without Warm, Angels Wings, Holding My Head High, and My Heart Tight. To Label Zakiya a LIVING LEGEND, in itself, is a mere Title of Humbled Calibur. This is the Woman Who has Taught Me to Love, and Shown Me to Express it, In Depth, and Innately.
I GIVE to her, EVERYTHING I AM; for She is the TRUE LOVE of My Life; My Teacher, My Friend, My Confidence, My Mother Supreme*
Reign On...My QUEEN!~
